La Locus Science Fiction Foundation, l'associazione che pubblica la famosa rivista Locus (vincitrice di innumerevoli premi Hugo e da sempre punto di riferimento del settore del fantastico), ha annunciato qualche giorno fa i finalisti all'edizione 2018 del Premio Locus, uno dei maggiori premi nel settore della fantascienza e del fantasy. Il Premio Locus sta al Premio Hugo un po' come il Golden Globe sta all'Oscar: è un premio prestigioso, ma è spesso anche indicazione di quali saranno i protagonisti nella battaglia per il premio maggiore. Se il Golden Globe è assegnato dai giornalisti, però, il Locus è basato sui voti dei lettori della rivista.

I vincitori saranno annunciati durante il Locus Awards Weekend, a Seattle, dal 22 al 24 giugno. La cerimonia sarà condotta da Connie Willis.
