Il record per il numero maggiore di nomination agli Oscar era di 14, detenuto da tre film: All About Eve (1950), Titanic (1997) e La La Land (2016). Da oggi il primato appartiene a un film fantastico, Sinners, un thriller-horror firmato da Ryan Coogler (Black Panther), con Michael B. Jordan che interpreta una coppia di gemelli. È molto improbabile comunque che al record di candidature segua un record di statuette, per le quali altri film, come One Battle After Another, Marty Supreme o Sentimental Value sembrano più quotati.

Bene anche Frankenstein con nove candidature, inclusi miglior film, attore non protagonista (Jacob Elordi) e sceneggiatura.

Il film fantascientifico di Pixar Elio è in finale nel film d'animazione, mentre Jurassic Park Rebirth è in finale agli effetti speciali insieme a Avatar Fire and Ice, che ha anche una candidatura per i costumi.
